The Bicycle Bus hit a HUUUGE milestone on Friday 1st March, 100 active travel journeys and still going, starting in October 2020, going once a week (sometimes more often) its taken nearly 3.5 years to get to 100!
Simon said ‘the weather was similar to our very first ride with it being cold, wet and windy…. but that didn’t put off 19 of us, who celebrated the occasion by being joined by officers from Warwickshire Police , active travel officers and Cllr Falp from Warwickshire County Council and the High Sheriff of Warwickshire’.
In support were 3 Police officers, 2 Warwickshire County Council active travel officers, Cllr Falp representing Whitnash Town Council, Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council and the High Sherriff of Warwickshire who said ‘The Bicycle Bus and the families that use it are trail blazers and are showing the community the way forward’ Cllr Falp also congratulated Simon on his achievement of showing families the benefits of cycling which are contributing towards a better community, she added ‘from little acorns, big oak trees grow!’
We wonder who will help celebrate the 200th active travel journey?
